Meeting Prem in 1979 was a friendship we continued well over several decades. What caught my eye from the first day was his gentle enduring smile. Over the years, that smile stayed with you. It was an experience and education to traverse heritage sites with you. Often at our camps, you and Roland unfolded the most hilarious stories told only by professional archaeologists.
Prem’s knowledge was immeasurable. His is a generation that measured knowledge with wisdom. I wish you had more years with us, as your absence cannot be measured. I always thought of you as the archaeologist for all seasons. May you enjoy the solace you so richly deserve…
